Apparel has a unique position in business that does not follow the traditional model: it is always changing not from sheer improvement (like in technology sales), but through various cultural and social trends that make the whole cycle complex for those outside the industry to understand. Without hybrid knowledge of both business and the apparel industry, an individual will require many extra years of training and experience to reach the highest level of expertise.

My minor in fashion merchanding provides me with a level of additional knowledge and experience that makes me a quick learner within this industry. With fashion and business educations combined, I am more accustomed to the unique playing field that makes up the fashion apparel and merchanding industry. My skills can be reflected from my work both in the classroom and at the catwalk.
